But what is the best way to guard against private information, especially about customers, from being stolen or lost? Most would agree that laptops are a good place to start. Another solution could be to identify all hard drives that are high risk and encrypt them. Yet another might be to switch to a server based software service model and keep no sensitive information on any remote device. In any case, you've got a lot to think about.
